Wajima lacquerware in everyday life
The three products, each with a different purpose, can be used at the dinner table every day and are classic items that have been praised for their ease of use throughout their long history. The chopsticks are also designed with a focus on ease of use, with particular attention paid to their shape and finish .

Carrying on the tradition of Wajima lacquerware
A multi-purpose free cup
The cylindrical shape is inspired by a Wajima lacquerware mug.
We created a generous number of drinking vessels so that you can always have a free cup of "Ki" by your side at the start of your day, in between working on your computer during the day, or while reading before bed.
The simple, straight cylindrical shape is a classic Wajima lacquerware design. The modern, light appearance, stripped of excessive ornamentation, blends seamlessly into a variety of living situations, whether at home, in the office, or on a business trip.
By the way, you may wonder why there are no "trees" sometimes, even though the mug is hard to reach.
This is related to the characteristics of lacquerware.
Lacquerware has a lower thermal conductivity than ceramic porcelain, so heat is less likely to be transferred to the surface of the vessel, even when hot drinks are poured into it, allowing the vessel to be touched directly with your hands.
In addition, the handle-friendly design makes it versatile, allowing you to store not only drinks such as coffee, tea, Japanese tea, soup, and alcohol, but also food.
"Ki" can be used in many different ways, and it embodies the Japanese wisdom of "one vessel for many uses" (one vessel can be used for multiple purposes, and vessels can be disposable).

A classic shape with a playful touch.
Taniya's original "Dimples"
Although "Trees" is highly practical, those who are used to using mugs may feel uneasy without a handle and be confused as to which side is considered the front.
To provide peace of mind to those people, we have made some special efforts to design the trees.
There is a round indentation on the side of the vessel. This round indentation is actually a replacement.
This original design from Taya Lacquerware was born from the inquisitiveness of the lacquer makers and craftsmen who strive for ease of holding.
The recessed part is sized to fit your thumb perfectly, and when you place your thumb in the recess, your other fingers will move in and wrap around the cup.
When viewed from the side, the round depression on the cheek resembles a dimple.
The dimples on the sides of the "Trees" design, which features a distinctive linear form, add softness and warmth to the entire cup, and we believe that the contrast of light and shadow created by the unevenness gives the lacquered surface an even more provisional feel.

With the power of lacquer,
Makes drinks taste better
Bowls and chopsticks are chosen from lacquerware, and cups for drinking coffee and tea are already decided upon.
The first thing you notice when you take a sip from the cup is the gentle feel of the lacquer on your lips. Even after it has been transformed into Wajima lacquerware, the lacquer continues to harden as it absorbs moisture from the air. The moist, unique texture of the lacquer is a beauty not found in ceramic or wooden vessels with a base finish, and we hope that those who look at it will also enjoy it.
Not only that, but when you pour a drink into this cup, the lacquer even changes the taste.
Whether it's coffee, tea, sake, or wine, the taste of any drink poured into the "Ki" is soft and mellow. Even if you don't purchase special coffee beans or tea leaves, you can enjoy the joy and pleasure of discovering new flavors from the same things you always have. This is a gift from lacquer that only those who appreciate good food can experience.
